Randoms

We went to the zoo again!  Beeba came to visit for the weekend before heading out for vacation, and we decided to take a drive over to see the baby warthogs.  They were so cute!

That same weekend was the annual, Eastern Market Flower Sale on Sunday.  I don't know how much money we actually save by going, but it's such a fun tradition we started a few years ago.  Every year seams to have it's own new memory.  Like the year it was cold and rainy and miserable and my mom was outfitted in her bright, yellow Momentum coat :)  Or last year where I was pregnant with Zoe and it was one of the first days I really felt like I was showing somewhat.

Cheap Amusements

Aaron would probably disagree with me, but I don't think we have an over abundance of toys.  Yes, we have a few large pieces, like her play mat and exersaucer, but she likes them both and they keep her occupied while I get a few things done hands free, so I can live with them.  All of the little things fit nicely in a basket on our book shelf.

Her two favorite items though?  Her hands.  And most recently, her feet.  She is SO expensive ;) ;)

She found her hands a long time ago.  When she's starting to get fussy around bed time?  Aaron just pops a finger into her mouth and she's content.  Last night she was actually sucking his thumb.  Why would she suck her own when she can chomp on daddy's forever??

I knew she'd find her feet soon.  We left my parents and she was SO close to getting them.  Of course, the day after we got home, jackpot!!  A whole new world of excitement has opened up for her.  It's really the cutest thing ever.

Next up....getting those babies in her mouth with more frequency :)

2012 | A Year in Review

I've seen a few of these posts this week and thought it was a neat idea.  So here goes...

January  We rang in the new year with friends at a club in Ferndale (my how this New Year's was SO different :) ).

February  I turned 29 and had a "Super Lauta" super bowl party, and most importantly, we found out we were expecting!!

March  We had crazy warm weather here in Michigan.  And we got to see our Little Miss on the ultra sound.  I can't even describe the relief I felt when we found out it was a healthy pregnancy and Zoe was right where she was supposed to be.

April  We finally shared the news with family and friends.

May  Aaron, my mom, and I ran/walked the River Bank Run.  I made my way to Cali to visit my BFF.  We had so much fun!

June  Aaron and I went on vacation which turned into a stay-cation.  We made the best of it :)

July  I got a new car.  And more importantly, my brother got married!  My BFF surprised me and came to the wedding :)  Best surprise ever!

August  My cousin got married and we had our first shower.

September  Our friend's got married and we had our second shower.

October  We finished the nursery, and right at the end of October, we finally got to meet our little girl.  Zoe Louise made her debut on October 28.  She is by far the best part of 2012 :)

November  Zoe had lots of visitors and we made our way back to Grand Rapids for her first Thanksgiving.

I think I overdid the red eye removal on this one :(

December  Zoe celebrated her frist Christmas!!

2012 was amazing.  I really don't know how 2013 will be able to top it :)  I can't wait to see what's in store.

Fun Things

This weather has been AMAZING for March in Michigan.  I am loving it!  We already have our winter "cleanup" yard work done.  We've already had our first walk to get ice cream of the season.  I even had to roll my pants up on one of our walks because I was so hot.  This is crazy for the middle of March!

Wednesday I had a client meeting for most of the day and got done a little early so I decided to go home and enjoy the weather.  This is what my temperature gauge said.  And we're projected to have more of the same for the next week at least :)

A few years ago, my BFF introduced me to Lill.  At my first visit, I made a cute clutch which I have since taken to almost every wedding I've been to :)  When I went to visit her in the fall, we went again and I fell in love with their Lexi style.  You can wear it across your body or over your shoulder or as a backpack type purse.  I've been looking every where for a cute over my body purse.  Now I could design my own!  I soon got an e-mail for a coupon and then Aaron bought me a GC for my birthday.  I finally made the purse about a month ago and it arrived this week.  I love it!  It's perfect for spring/summer and it even goes with tomorrow's St. Patty's festivities as my BFF pointed out.  I can't wait to use it :)

Happy New Year!

And now, a happy post (I'll update the health piece at the end-I want this to be mostly a happy post.

I was feeling much better and felt able to ring in the New Year!  I had been slowly testing how I felt earlier in the week.  That Wednesday, I made a trip to Meijer.  I was a little tired the rest of the day but at least I made it out.  Thursday before my doctor's appointment, I met my friend Andrea for lunch.  Friday, Andrea and I met up again to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (really good movie).  By Friday, I was really feeling ok.  Still a little sore, but nothing like earlier in the week.

And so the New Year's planning begins!  We decided to host our friends for pre drinks and food, then we were going to head to The Bosco for drinks and dancing.  I was debating all week if I was really feeling up to having people and going out.  I am so glad we decided to continue with our plans.  I had so much fun!  It was so nice to relax, be with friends, and just get to let loose and forget about everything for one night.  It seemed like everyone else enjoyed themselves as well.  Here are a few pictures that capture bits and pieces of the night :)

We had a fashion shoot before heading to the bar. The girls, then each couple, and of course we can't leave out Wally :)

Next, came the pictures from the bar and after.  I picked some of the more "tame" shots.

2011 definitely had it's ups and downs.  For the most part, it really was a great year.  Here's to 2012 being even better! :)
